This Week

A BIG thanks goes out to the girls and parents for attending the meeting. Many parents brought the packets that were given to players and many girls reminded many times for them to attend the meeting. Unfortunately we were short by four and only needed two to tie with volleyball but we are super proud that we were able to boast a 90% attendance rate. Great job!

Fall 2017 Tryouts and other information

It is hard to believe but we are just over three weeks away until Fall tryouts. Here is info that you need to know...get these dates on your calendar as soon as possible.

Cross Fit Bootcamp-We have been having PJ lead us in Crossfit throughout the summer. He will be leading a two-week bootcamp to have you ready for tryouts. It will be on MWF from 10-11 a.m. the weeks of July 24th and 31st. It will cost $30 for all 6 sessions. To sign up you must go online to the link below and set up a profile. Then you can go ahead and pay.
Varsity tryouts-M-Th, Aug. 7-10 from 6-8 and Friday, Aug 11th from 9-11. This week will be used to choose players for the varsity team. Team selection will be posted by the end of the week
JV tryouts-They will be the same dates/times as varsity (see above) and will continue into the first week of school (Aug. 14-17). The JV team will be posted by 5 p.m. on the 17th.
Team Potluck-Friday, Aug. 11th we will have our second annual team potluck in the evening. It will be a great time to meet new and old players as well as parents and coaches. We will have more info on that at a later date.
Fall Parent Meeting-This is an important meeting for all team parents. We will go over team expectations and important season events. It is scheduled for Thursday, August 17th from 7-8:30. Please plan to have at least one parent attending-even if you have been to these meetings before.
Murder Mystery Dinner Fundraiser Meeting-We are hosting a really fun fund raiser opportunity this year. We will need parents to help out in a variety of areas. If you are interested, come to a meeting on August 6th from 2-4. We will send out specific details. Email us at branhamfieldhockey@gmail.com if you are interested in finding out more.
Sport Physicals-All participants must have a completed physical BEFORE trying out. BHS offers one on Aug. 1st (First Come-First Served) for $20 in case you are unable to get in to your physician. There is another option as well. See the link below.
Athlete Clearance Site Sign Up-All potential players, both returning and new, must log in to the new system that many schools are now using. It is called Athletic Clearance.com and will help you getting all of your forms completed before tryouts. If players are not cleared on this site, they CANNOT tryout. Do not wait until the last day to get signed up as it will still take a few days to get cleared.
