Summer Bootcamp and Just a Bit More...

I know there is a lot of information....but the time until season is ticking away.

Summer Workouts/Bootcamp
There are only three more weeks left that you can meet as a team for conditioning and/or skills. After the 31st and until August 15th it is considered the CCS black-out period. You can still run and condition and work on things on your own but NOT AS TEAM MEMBERS. Please ask if you have any questions. :)

Here is the schedule for the remaining of July:
M-July 21, 28 Conditioning 9-10 am
T-July 15. 22. 29 Skills 6-7:30 pm
W-July 16, 23, 30 Conditioning 6-7:30 pm (scrimmage at the end)
Th-July 17, 24, 31 Skills 6-7:30 pm

Going to workouts is optional. Be sure that if you are not attending that you are working on these things on your own. All workouts are at the BHS field. Bring your stick and wear comfortable shoes to conditioning. You may want to come a little early to warm up. Coaches may be at skills training but Fiorella and Christine have balls and cones to use as well. Use the time wisely. Be sure to spend 15-20 min. on individual stick work (dribbles, pulls, fakes), 15-20 min. with partners (pushes, lifts, sweeps, speed passes, pass off both feet, pass and move), 20-30 minutes on small game (shooting, 2v2, 2v1, 3v2, etc.) then spend the rest of the time playing scrimmages. Please remember to record your workouts (date, activity, how you felt/comments) in a journal or on a calendar. This will be collected from all returning players (and new players-if you choose). Your workouts could also include activities with other teams or groups.

Fall Practice Schedule
This is a tentative
practice schedule but should help you plan for appointments.

New Gear Website
Mr. Jacobs has secured the services of My Locker.com to help with team/school gear. We will still sell our own field hockey logo gear but there are some awesome options and you can buy even single items. A percentage of the costs go to the BHS athletic department. Check the site out and play around with the customization. Maybe the team could agree on a cool design.

Summer Workouts and Season Happenings

There will be weekly updates to this page by Sunday evening. Be sure to check and read over the details. We will be providing reminders, giving details and letting you know of any changes. It will be your responsibility to know what is happening for the remaining part of the summer and the fall season. There may even be a trivia question or detail for you to respond to, so be sure you are on the lookout.

Season Schedule
Tentative Season Schedule is posted-There may be updates but they will be dated so you can see if there is new information.

Freshman registration- August 12th from 8-10 am
We will need volunteers to pass out tryout flyers. Wear field hockey gear and show some of that fancy stick work. Your main job is to recruit more freshmen to try out. Let me know if you can help and what time you are available at branhamfieldhockey@gmail,com

Physicals and Tryout Paperwork August 11th at 2 pm
BHS has scheduled the physicals for 2 pm but you will want to get there early since lines will get long. They are $20 (cash preferred) and you need your paperwork (see below). If all of the paperwork is filled out then after the physical you can simply drop it off in the office. Be sure you give at least 2 days for the office to process your paperwork before you get your blue sheet. You cannot tryout without your blue sheet. See Tryout schedule page for more details.
